We finally got around to watching "Inglorious Basterds" the other week and both thoroughly enjoyed it actually. Long, blood spattered and totally crack-tastic (as only Tarantino can be) but remarkably engaging and enjoyable. There are so many moments where you don't know if you should laugh or be horrified, or a little of both! And Christoph Waltz who plays Hans Landa. Amazing, totally amazing, horrifying performance. Highly recommend.
We watched "Up in the Air" last night (a quiet Saturday night was in order after a rather...raucous Friday night at a costume party upstairs that M has BANNED me from writing about, but suffice to say it left us both a little....tired and emotional on Sat) I really liked the film, M wasn't a huge fan. Indeed, like most things, he found it to be 'mid-range'. An interesting story and Monsieur Clooney is delightful to watch, even in this very different role.
What else... we also watched "Invictus" the other week (um, we do go out, promise, but the weather has been terrible, we're dirt poor and there's only French TV on offer so.....) and another lovely film. Morgan Freeman was clearly born/destined to play Mandela and Matt Damon (Team America voice "maaat daaammmon") is also really terrific. It even made me like Rugby more.
Ha! The Tour Down Under was just on the news! Hilarious. This, coupled with my ability yesterday to buy Vegemite at our local Carrefour supermarket means I'm feeling the Aussie love.
In other news, so so excited for Amy and Rob about the arrival of baby Hugo James Bredon. Can't WAIT to see some photos. Also, my great mate Woon-fish (aka Peter Woon, head of Drama at Pembroke) and his delightful and much better half Sarah have also had a little boy, Edward (Ned) Albert Woon. After 2 girls Woon finally gets his boy! Babies babies every where! Loves it!
Kate is in Italy at the moment and we're VERY excited about spending the weekend with her. It'll be the FOURTH time I've seen her since we moved here. Yes, 4th. Makes the rest of you slobs yet to get on a plane looks pretty shoddy hey!. This comment is directly intended for you mum. BOOK YOUR FLIGHTS ALREADY LADY! Before Adi digs another hole! ha ha.
That is all. As you were.
